7 Foods Linked to Cancer That You Should Never Eat Again

Did you know that cancer is a disease that is almost non-existent among certain tribes and indigenous peoples?  Yeah, it turns out that cancer is one of many conditions and ailments that have been brought on by the amenities and luxuries that are afforded by a modern lifestyle.
Research on past civilizations has shown that tumors and other indicators of cancer were much rarer in the past than they are now.  Which means that something about the way we live now is increasing the prevalence of the disease.
Here are seven foods and food items that you should think twice about consuming:
BPA-Lined Cans and Bottles
Often found in the hard plastics that make up water bottles, as well as the resins that coat different types of metal cans, BPA has links to many different harmful health conditions.  These conditions include cancer, infertility, diabetes, and obesity.
Smoked or Cured Food Items
Methods of preserving foods have been around for centuries, and that includes smoking and curing.  Unfortunately, many of these methods involve nitrates and nitrites, which, when cooked, transform into by-products that have strong ties to elevated risks of cancer.
Fish From Fish Farms
Food and Water Watch reports that fish from fish farms often possess above average levels of chemical pollutants when compared to fish that live in the wild.  And because of overcrowding in these farms, the fish are much more likely to catch disease.
Grilled Meats
When you burn certain materials you produce certain by-products.  PAHs, or polycyclic amoratic hydrocarbons, are produced when you burn coal or wood.  When cooking foods over these substances, the carcinogenic by-products coat the foods, increasing your exposure to carcinogens, and thus increasing your risk for cancer.
Trans-Fats & Hydrogenated Oils
You may have heard about trans-fats in the media not too long ago as they were condemned by many health experts publicly.  Trans-fats and hydrogenated oils have man-made chemical structures that have been designed to increase a product’s shelf life.
These oils have been linked to many health issues, including heart disease, stroke and diabetes, just to name a few.
Microwavable Popcorn
Bummer, I know.  Microwavable popcorn bags have a lining made of Perfluoroalkyls, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) to keep oils from seeping through the container.  When these chemicals get heated in the microwave, they end up on the popcorn itself.  These chemicals have been linked to tumor growth and increased instances of prostate cancer.
Sugar
As if you needed another excuse to cut sugar out of your diet, cancer cells have been shown to thrive on sugar, as well as foods that end up being converted to sugars, like pasta, bread, grains, carbohydrates and many fruits.  A balanced diet that has fruit in it is not as big of a deal, however.
